1. The 18+ Independent User Threshold
To create an independent Kairo organization or enter into a commercial subscription, users must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of contractual majority in their jurisdiction).
Key takeaway: 18+ is required for independent account registration and contracting.
2. Registration Date of Birth Check
At registration, Kairo collects the user's birth month and birth year. This input is used strictly to determine age eligibility and is permanently locked to prevent unauthorized tampering or bypass of age gates.
Key takeaway: Birth date is collected at signup to verify age and permanently locked against bypass.
3. Under-18 Safeguards & Intake
If an applicant indicates they are under 18, the registration system automatically halts normal account activation. The user is redirected to the Parent & Guardian Supervision workflow and the account is placed in a non-functional pending status.
Key takeaway: Applicants under 18 are blocked from automatic activation and routed to guardian intake.
4. Correction of Mistaken Age Determinations
If a user mistakenly entered an incorrect birth date during registration, they may request an eligibility review by submitting a correction request to guardians@zambezidigital.agency along with verifiable evidence of majority.
Key takeaway: Legitimate date-of-birth entry mistakes can be appealed via the guardian desk.
